Crafting Whimsical Wonders

VandeKrafts began as a playful twist on my last name and a desire for creative freedom. I didn’t want to tie the shop to any one niche, even though I quickly fell head‑over‑heels for making handmade dice. What started as a curiosity has grown into a small but joyful business where I get to blend my love of flowers, nature, and fantasy into every piece I create.
My husband and I run VandeKrafts together from our home in Kansas City, MO. I’m the dice maker, and he’s the long‑time 3D printing expert. Many of our 3D printed items are his original designs, and he’s taught me how to bring my own ideas to life as well. Between the two of us, we design and produce a variety of unique, custom, and often delightfully nerdy creations.

We’ve been playing Dungeons & Dragons for over a decade, and that love of storytelling definitely shows up in our work. I get especially excited about custom orders — they push me out of my usual themes and give me an excuse to experiment with new materials, colors, and techniques. Even though we’re both full‑time engineers, we carve out time for craft shows, conventions, and stocking our case at Nerd Nation, where a small selection of our items is always available.

VandeKrafts is still young — I’ve been making and selling dice for a couple of years, and the business itself is just over a year old — but it’s become one of the most rewarding parts of our lives. Everything we make is crafted with care, curiosity, and a little bit of magic. We’re grateful for every person who supports our work and lets us keep creating things that bring joy to the table.
